Put yourself inany TikTok video

Found a TikTok you wish you were in? Copy its link, paste it into oVideo and add one photo of yourself. You take the place of the person in it: your face, hair, body and outfit, with the same dance, the same camera and the same sound. No screen recording, no download, no editing app. An Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts link works the same way.

Getting the link of a TikTok

In the TikTok app

Open the video, tap the Share arrow, then Copy link. You get a short vm.tiktok.com link, which works as it is.

In a browser

Open the video and copy the address bar. It looks like tiktok.com/@name/video/ followed by a long number.

From a friend

A TikTok link someone sent you in a chat works the same way. Paste it as it is.

Which TikToks work

What comes in and what does not

oVideo brings in one public TikTok video at a time, up to its first 60 seconds, and you swap any 3 to 15 seconds of it. When a link cannot be used, save the video and upload the file instead.

Want to be the artist in a song's video? Paste the TikTok clip of it: put yourself in a music video.

  • Public TikTok videos: yes, from the app or the browser.
  • Videos longer than a minute: the first 60 seconds come in.
  • Private and friends only videos: no, nobody outside can open them.
  • Photo mode posts and slideshows: no, there is no video to follow.
  • Profiles, sounds, hashtags and lives: no, they are not one video.

How it works

From TikTok to your version in four steps

  1. 01

    Copy the TikTok link

Share, then Copy link, in the app, or the address bar in a browser.

  2. 02

Paste it in Put Yourself In

Paste it where you would upload a video. The TikTok comes in on its own.

  3. 03

    Pick the seconds

Choose 3 to 15 seconds: the hook, the dance or the punchline.

  4. 04

    Add your photo and create

One clear photo of you in the outfit you want. The finished video lands in your gallery with the TikTok sound.

Before you post

Posting it back on TikTok

The video downloads without an oVideo watermark. A few habits keep your post up and your viewers on your side. For Instagram and YouTube, see putting yourself in a Reel and in a YouTube Short.

  • Turn on TikTok’s AI generated content label when you post.
  • Credit the original creator, for example in the caption.
  • Use your own photo, or a friend’s photo with their consent.
  • Use clips you made or have the right to use.
  • Pick the seconds with the clearest view of the person for the best swap.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

How do I put myself in a TikTok video?
In TikTok, tap Share and then Copy link. Open Put Yourself In on oVideo, paste the link, pick the 3 to 15 seconds you want, add one clear photo of yourself and create. You replace the person in the TikTok while the moves, the camera and the sound stay.
Which AI tools let me paste a TikTok link to put myself in it?
oVideo, Bolly and Cloney take a pasted TikTok link (checked November 3, 2026; Cloney October 31). oVideo also takes Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts links and lets you pick any 3 to 15 seconds; Bolly takes TikTok and Reels links and uses the first 15 seconds; Cloney takes TikTok and Reels links. Viggle’s TikTok page and Higgsfield Recast ask you to upload the video file instead.
Can I paste an Instagram Reel or a YouTube Short instead?
Yes. The same box takes a public Instagram Reels link and a YouTube Shorts link, and it works the same way: pick the seconds, add one photo and create.
Which TikTok links work?
Public TikTok videos, with the full link from the browser (tiktok.com/@name/video/…) or the short link the app copies (vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com). Profile pages, sounds, hashtags and live streams are not single videos, so they cannot be used.
Can I use a private or friends only TikTok?
No. oVideo can only bring in videos everyone can see. If it is your own private video, save it to your phone and upload the file instead.
Does it work with TikTok photo posts and slideshows?
No. Photo mode posts have no video to follow, so there are no moves to swap you into. Use a TikTok video.
What if the TikTok is longer than a minute?
The first 60 seconds come in. You then pick the 3 to 15 seconds to swap, for example the hook or the dance.
Can I put myself in a TikTok dance from one photo?
Yes. Paste the link of the dance, pick the 3 to 15 seconds with the moves you want and add one photo; a full body photo works best. You do every step of the original dancer and the original sound stays. You never film yourself dancing.
Does the TikTok sound stay?
Yes. The song, voices and effects of the seconds you picked are put back in sync with the moves.
Can I swap my friend into a TikTok?
Yes, with their photo and their consent. You confirm that you have the right to use the photo and the video before every swap.
How much does it cost?
Bringing the TikTok in from its link is free. The swap costs 19 credits per second at 720p and 26 at 1080p, shown before you create; a 15 second swap at 720p is 285 credits, about $3.66 to $7.13 depending on the plan and billing. Failed videos are refunded automatically.
Can I post the result back on TikTok?
Use clips you made or have the right to use, credit the original creator, and turn on TikTok’s AI generated content label when you post, since TikTok asks for it on realistic AI video.
