How to use Put Yourself In
Put Yourself In replaces the person in a video with the person in your photo: face, hair, body and outfit, while every move, the camera and the original sound stay. This guide covers the three ways to start, the photo that gives the best result, and what to do when you see an error.
Updated
Three ways to start
Pick a template, upload a clip or paste a link
- Viral template
- 213 ready clips: 188 for one person, 21 for two and 4 for three. Add one photo per person and create.
- Your own clip
- MP4, MOV or WebM, at least 3 seconds, up to 60 seconds and 200 MB. The main person in it is replaced.
- A link
- A public TikTok, Instagram Reel or video post, or a YouTube Short. The first 60 seconds come in, nothing to download.
- Swap length
- You pick any 3 to 15 seconds of the clip.
- Quality
- 720p or 1080p, priced per second; the price shows before you create.
- At the same time
- Up to 3 swaps run at once; finished videos land in your gallery.

Press create and close the page if you like. The video appears in your gallery, ready to download.
Your photo
The photo that gives the best swap
The photo decides how much of you ends up in the video. JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC all work.
- Face clearly visible and turned to the camera.
- Good, even light; no sunglasses, masks or hands over the face.
- Only you in the photo, or crop it so you are the only person.
- A half body or full body photo also brings your outfit and build.
- Wear what you want to wear in the video: the outfit comes from the photo.
The clip
Choosing the right seconds
The AI follows the person in the clip frame by frame, so the part you pick matters as much as the photo. For a clip with two or three people, use a template made for more than one person.
- The person is large in the frame and faces the camera at least once.
- One main person; in your own clip only the main person is replaced.
- Avoid seconds where hands or objects cover the face.
- Very fast spins and tiny, far away people are the hardest to swap.
- The hook or the best move of the clip usually fits in 15 seconds.

Answers
Frequently asked questions
- How do I put myself into a video with oVideo?
- Open Put Yourself In, pick a viral template or bring your own clip (upload it or paste a TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts link), choose 3 to 15 seconds, add one clear photo of yourself, pick 720p or 1080p and press create. The finished video appears in your gallery with the original sound.
- What kind of photo works best?
- Your face clearly visible, from the front, in good light, without sunglasses. A half body or full body photo also brings your outfit and build into the video; a close face photo swaps the face and hair while the clip keeps more of its own look.
- Can I swap two or three people?
- Yes, with a template made for two or three people: add one photo per person. In your own clip, Put Yourself In replaces the main person only.
- Which part of the clip should I pick?
- The 3 to 15 seconds where the person is large in the frame and faces the camera at least once. Fast spins, hands over the face and very small or far away people are the hardest parts to swap.
- Do I have to stay on the page while it is made?
- No. You can close the page; the finished video waits in your gallery. Up to 3 swaps can run at the same time.
- Can I put myself into a photo instead of a video?
- Yes, with Put Yourself in a Photo: upload the photo to change and a photo of your face, and the pose, outfit, background and light stay the same.
- What if I do not like the result?
- Try a clearer front facing photo, a different part of the clip, or the other quality. Each new swap is a new video and is priced again.
